Motor Trend wanted to take the Nissan GTR on a different kind of run. With that they introduced the Scion Drift team to test out the capabilities of the Nissan GTR against. I wish I had half the capability of one of those drivers, and that GTR looks like its stuck to the ground.

[Random Rambling]Clothes
February 9th, 2010 · Jacqui ·
On my way yesterday morning, I kept thinking about the cold weather we were experiencing and then I started thinking about the clothes that we wear. I was in a way mesmerized and fascinated by how clothes come in different shapes/sizes/material/etc.. and how each individual incorporates them. The clothes we wear are not only fashionable or nice to look at but they serve a greater purpose in keeping us warm.
I thought back to the days where cavemen were roaming around naked I think before they discovered that large leaf where they covered certain parts and before I believe they discovered the ability to skin the animals they eat and create nice fur coats.
Can you imagine surviving the cold being naked and only covered by a leaf to protect your privates or if you’re lucky that fur you got from your last meal? Today we wear a thousand layers just to keep warm, I don’t think I know if I can survive in that state.
Just a random rambling that was going through my mind and I thought I would share with you all :)

Perfect Soft Eggs
February 9th, 2010 · Mark ·
I am craving soft eggs which I don’t think I’ve had since the 80s. It’s all because I found this really cool guide on how to make the perfect soft eggs awhile back and since then I haven’t been able to get it out of my head. I should try making some tomorrow. [Link]

Melenzane
February 9th, 2010 · ansam518 ·
The very nice guys at Melenzane (M&M) invited me to come try their food… They asked me to bring along a couple of people, so I went with one of my sisters whos in love with Italian food and eggplants (English for Melenzane), and a friend who isnt crazy about Italian food but was up for trying the new place out
One of the owners was waiting for us with a huge smile and very welcoming atmosphere, the place looked really different, in a good way different! The background techno music just added to the whole chaotic design. Chairs upside down, tables on the wall, or used as lights… very industrial feel that is softened up by some classical mirrors on the wall. Flashlights dangling, with an upside world all around!! It was amazing!!! I LOVED it.. and here are few pictures for you to get a feeling to what I am trying to explain, and it wont do the place any justice, it is MUCH nicer to be quite honest
They (both Ms) were so happy to give us a tour around the place explaining things out and answering questions, so we went up to check the place out. (and I got into the Kitchen too Wohooo)
Check how the stairs look as if they were built upside down!!
I tried to take as many pictures as possible to give you a feel of the place!
OK now lets talk food, shall we?
While munching on the bread basket and browsing through the menu, we asked them to surprise us with the appetizers, but we were to pick our main dishes. I opted for spaghetti bolognaise, my sister ordered chicken with penne, while my friend ordered fish (Dore) and vegetables. I only asked him for a mushroom soup since Q80 in Denver suggested it for me. Not a bad idea, the soup was good
They brought in a salad with roca leaves, meatballs, and artichokes… LOVED the dressing, would have preferred it without the meatballs though, but then again, my sister loved the meatball addition to it! I guess its a matter of taste afterall
Those mini burgers were best sellers, now you have to be brave to eat them cuz the beef patties are soft, and you should just try and eat’em in two or three bites tops!
This dish I did not honestly try! Both my friend and sister tried it and liked it
The below is a picture of their stuffed mushroom, and I must say it was the best appetizer offered that day – judged by the three of us! FABULOUS! I loved those and I highly recommend’em!!
And now our main courses; my sister’s chicken and penne, my spaghetti, and my friend’s fish….
Just before I took a bite from my spaghetti I told my sister I hope its one of those bolognaise where you can taste the sweetness in the sauce, and guess what! IT WAS!!! So yummy!
For dessert, we ordered strawberry tiramisu, espresso tiramisu, and chocolate pudding! I tried all three and loved the espresso tiramisu the most! I complimented my dessert with very aromatic solo espresso
After dinner we sat with the owner and gave him our full review! He was very open minded about it and a very good listener too!
Anyways… Melenzane is located in AlBeda’a restaurants, in the new extension next to Rasha Chic in SHIIK resort

Burj Khalifa: Closed a month after opening !
February 8th, 2010 · Frankom ·

The world’s tallest skyscraper has unexpectedly closed to the public a month after its lavish opening, disappointing tourists headed for the observation deck and casting doubt over plans to welcome its first permanent occupants in the coming weeks.
Electrical problems are at least partly to blame for the closure of the Burj Khalifa’s viewing platform — the only part of the half-mile high tower open yet. But a lack of information from the spire’s owner left it unclear whether the rest of the largely empty building — including dozens of elevators meant to whisk visitors to the tower’s more than 160 floors — was affected by the shutdown.

Condoleezza Rice is currently a Professor of Political Science at Stanford University and the Thomas and Barbara Stephenson Senior Fellow on Public Policy at the Hoover Institution.
